macOS Ventura Interview
When does it become uncouth to say, “Happy New Year”? Just to be safe, I won’t, but the year is off to a great start and Apple already had some interesting announcements.
Right before we closed 2022, I had the opportunity to interview Trisha Tierney who is on the team at Apple for Product Marketing! It’s kind of a big deal as it’s the first time I’ve ever had the chance to interview someone at Apple.
The first half touches on the major changes and features of macOS Ventura, but stay for the lightning round of tips for the Mac! Hopefully we shared a few you didn’t know, and if you know some secret tips for macOS, I’d love to hear them. You can watch the full interview right here:
Apple Announcements
Already this year Apple had several press releases and announced a new feature for Apple Podcasts. They first celebrated its groundbreaking year in entertainment, and to be fair Apple has come a long way in a short time with its Apple TV+ offerings.
But just today, Apple announced a new Business Connect portal geared towards helping businesses manage their location in Apple Maps. This is a great improvement over the previous method and I hope more businesses will do the work to post accurate information and images to their location.
I think this is another step toward removing any and all third-party data from Apple Maps as well. Just try tapping on an image from a location in Apple Maps and you’ll get the terrible experience of being thrown over to the Yelp app. Give it a few years and that will be gone forever.
Apple Podcasts announced a new feature called Delegated Delivery. If you’re a podcast creator with paid subscription content in Apple Podcasts, you know how cumbersome it can be to upload content to your podcast host, Patreon, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, etc. This feature will help streamline that process and allows creators to send paid content directly to Apple Podcasts through their hosting platform. I explain everything in this video:
Tips for Google Search
In my latest video, I go through six ways you can streamline your Google searches and find what you're looking for faster! I use these methods daily and they really help cut down on clicking lackluster links. Watch the video here:
Finally, one of my goals for 2023 is to consistently post short-form content, mostly consisting of iPhone tips. Watch my TikToks, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts to discover hidden features on your devices! Like how to move multiple apps at once across your Home Screens.
